Multi-Service Center, Federal Way, Washington

The Multi-Service Center, a community action agency, serves the largest, poorest, and neediest population in King County despite the fact that its service area encompasses primarily suburban and rural communities, rather than urban centers. The Collins Group was retained to guide the agency in preparing a long-term major and planned giving program. The Collins Group worked with agency staff, board, and community leadership to assess current performance; identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities; and create and launch a multi-year fundraising plan to secure gifts from the private sector. The long-term goal of this work was to help the agency build capacity to diversify its funding base and secure greater investment from individuals in the communities it serves.
