Northwest Harvest is the only statewide hunger relief organization in Washington. It supplies food without fees to 300 food banks and meal programs that provide an average of 500,000 services to people in need each month. In 2005, Northwest Harvest retained The Collins Group to test the feasibility of a capital campaign to purchase and retrofit a warehouse for food repackaging, storage, and distribution. At a time when Northwest Harvest faced losing its donated warehouse space, the $13.5 million Warehouse for Washington Capital Campaign funded the purchase and retrofitting of a larger, modern warehouse to allow the organization to secure and distribute twice as much food to the most vulnerable people in Washington State by 2016. With the help of TCG, Northwest Harvest not only successfully completed this campaign in the summer of 2008, but grew it annual giving program during the campaign time period.
