South Puget Sound Community College Foundation, Olympia, Washington

Serving over 6,000 students a year, South Puget Sound Community College is the only community college in Thurston County. In 2008, the South Puget Sound Community College Foundation hired The Collins Group to conduct a development advancement study to explore how the Foundation, which had been running steadily and well, could increase efficiencies and plan for future sustainability. TCG examined and assessed the Foundation’s fundraising efforts in seven core competencies recognized industry-wide as critical for mature, successful development programs. At the completion of the study, TCG provided a comprehensive development program plan that includes detailed matrices and a five-year budget that will guide the Foundation in its transition to an even more successful and mature fundraising program.
